Money Heist
Why is everyone watching Money Heist, La Casa De Papel
Season 1 & 2:
Season Four of Money Heist, sadly or luckily, don't know the right word, happened when we were forced to be home for quarantine.
It sure was the perfect timing, not intentionally meant but turned out a lot of us were so bored and seeing so much of Money Heist shared on social media, I too, succumbed under peer pressure and binge-watched all four seasons.
Well, I wouldn't say it was an unpleasant watch, but I just don't understand how Professor can have such a calculated plan, every single time!
I chose to watch it when I read it fell under the genre of action, crime & mystery. The word 'action' got my attention as it works for my husband and me. (Husband only watches movies and series in which 100 things happen in 5 minutes).
So we resorted to watching it after carefully downloading season 1 & 2 (since we may not be able to stand the suspense), but it turns out after watching the first two episodes, we were just fine.
In fact, we slept, woke up the next day, did our chores of the day, and after dinner and chores, then we began to watch the third episode, it kept happening for a week, and the tingly desire to see action was not satiated.
Husband was disappointed until the 7th episode, "nothing is happening here", and we parted ways, and I continued (like always) with season 2.
Ok, so Professor, has a fool-proof plan, and to execute it, he collects Group Of Robbers, who have exceptional talents and records.
They all lived in a house, far from the central city, and the Professor trained them for a good six months. He walked them through all the things that could go wrong and how to tackle each situation.
He was like BobbyFischer of Heist. For every move police or secret service made, he already had a counter-attack planned for it. So after careful training one fine day, they all went in.
Inside the Mint
They went in wearing a Dali mask which has a whole history to it, and deeper rooted meaning behind this simple Salvador Dali mask. Professor also had given them instructions on how to enter and take hostages.
All hostages were asked to wear the same red jumpsuit as the gang, all phones (powered off), and possessions safely kept like a decent person in a bag tagged with the name. How chivalrous!!
The hostages were engaged in several duties while employees with gang printed money in the Mint. It was a long, excruciating process of eleven days as per Professor's calculation.
Between all the normalcy, the crucial hostage, British Ambassador's daughter, Alison Parker, go rogue because of Rio's childish and inattentive behavior. But then it was contained quickly.
In all this melodrama, Berlin was nothing but perfection. Tokyo was going crazy, so she was sent out by the group in style. Police caught her, but the next day, she was freed by Professor's friends while transporting to court.
Drama isn't over yet, and she went back in!! on a bike!!! With all the police outside the Mint, but of course, she went back inside safely. Only Moscow got shot during all this commotion. Mind-boggling, right?!?!
Painstakingly, by the end of the second season, they decided to leave the Mint, recruiting another member from hostages.
Yes! That, too, happened. The sacrifice, in the end, was incredible, but I would rather have that character linger more as an active participant but not as a memory in later seasons.
While the Dali's were in Mint, the Professor was having an affair/falling in love with the negotiator in-charge. Inspector Raquel, who finds herself in a bit of a dilemma around the end of season two.
Later, she unconsciously (or somewhat under the influence of hormones) made a series of mistakes. And, then, was taken off the case.
Oh! I forgot, they all got out no problem at all except for Moscow, Oslo, and my favorite Berlin died. But why be sad, Inspector Raquel, or rather Lisbon, went looking for Professor and found him.
Season 3 :
Season three started like a very long after-party, which everyone was having on different islands, not knowing where are rest, completely in oblivion.
Trouble in Paradise
The life on the island got Tokyo bored with her monotonous life, so she left for the city for a few days. That's when Rio used the phone, which was one of two conditions defined by Professor as a big no! (other was no Europe)
Now, this is where the drama started, Panama authorities caught Rio. Tokyo contacted Professor through the secret passage given to all.
Eventually, Professor called everyone, and since it was like a walk-in-the-park, everyone agreed to another heist.
This time they chose the Bank of Spain, which has gold oozing out of the vaults and extremely trained five guards, including Jason Statham look-alike, Gandia.
Initially, I thought he has potential, (because he looks like Jason Statham) but I don't understand, a person with so much training and badges on his shoulder had to wait for an idea from Palermo, to break few of his ankle bones to get his hand out of cuffs.
Like seriously!! but then he gave them tough time too, so that makes me happy.

Meanwhile, Lisbon/Raquel and Professor are on a trailer with all the tech/wiz equipment and with help from IT guys from Pakistan (I just don't understand why Pakistan!).
Professor is watching every move, backfiring every plan made by police, as usual!
And, oh yeah most exciting element for me in season three was the inspector-in-charge, Alicia Sierra. She is oh-so-AhMayZing!!! She has that level of evil that may be term Medusa will fall shy for its shortcomings.
But then she too gives up Rio as of course; Professor always has all plans covered. But then Sierra is not the person to be taken lightly and shoots Nairobi in a very Sierra-kind-of-foul-play.

Did I tell you she is awesome! Can't emphasize enough.
Somehow by the end of season 3, Raquel is caught/killed by police, and Professor is devastated, even though he activated plan Alcatraz (you have to watch to know). I was delighted, not on the killing dude!
I am not almost like Sierra; I was happy because season 4 of Money Heist has released and downloaded on my phone.
